SO I'M WONDERING...

When I post an entry to my journal I see:

Updating journal...

And hey, what the fuck is up with the line: Updating journal... ???

Because it is annoying and confusing and the first time I saw it I thought the site was about to take a dirt nap. It doesn't mean the site is in the PROCESS of doing something. It's hard code somethingorother AND I HATE IT LIKE FIRE.

Copy Editing: Save button is grayed out!

I tried copy editing four different pages and on all four, the [Save] button was grayed out. Does this mean someone is already proofing the page? Or is it something else?

Edit: And now it's not grayed out anymore...

I am feeling very chatty today

1. Now that we're down to being enormously picky here on the docs team, don't we need our own irc channel, huh huh huh? really? huh?

2. Is there a DW Comm for making suggestions? I don't actually have any suggestions right now, but I was wondering if there was an existing comm, because if there is, I'd like to link it in dreamchasers.

3. Is there a DW Comm for asking really dumb questions? Okay, yeah, in theory there aren't any stupid questions, but in reality there are. But shouldn't there still be a place where people can ask them? (Less fuss, less muss, less work for Mother if they're all in one place, and all questions aren't Support Questions, yanno.) And (you guessed) if there is, I'd like to link it in dreamchasers.

DOCS REVISION TO MAKE THEM NON-ABLED-SPECIFIC

I remember that somewhere zvi was mentioning that the instructions in the translation strings should (ideally) be revised so that they did not privilege (i think) sighted individuals accessing the site, but I don't remember where her entry was so I can't quote it in detail. I remember it saying that instructions in the strings referencing locations and actions in non-specific ways should be revised in a more detailed way so that they were non-ambiguous to individuals accessing the site through a screen-reader interface[?]

Just throwing that out there, since the translation strings I'm copyediting still seem to be privileging sighted and physically able individuals.
