Might it be useful to create a "What are communities?" FAQ? I've seen it happen (on LJ at least) that people are told "you want to post your $foo in a community, etc. etc." - people that are new to DW will not know what communities are or why they're different from personal journals (or even that they're different, maybe.)

I'm not exactly volunteering for it, just wanted to throw it out as a suggestion.

*pondery mc ponder*

is "what are communities" covered in the top menu where Hypothetical User chooses whether to make a journal or a comm? Do we need more?

[personal profile] ursamajor and [personal profile] mac are our people for communities related FAQs. Not sure precisely what they have planned, but they should have things under control. I'll prod at Ursie next time I see her on IRC.

(concepts for Ursie/Mac to possibly include once they get to it)

* Do you want to post protected content but have people sign up rather than you having to approve them?
* Do you want to have more than one person holding forth in the same blog?

The argument that "and then they don't have to give you access to their content" is now blown out of the water thanks to WTF.
