Um, should we not mention that cookies can (and IIRC actually kinda ARE with us) used to store things aside from the current login session. Like, say, sitescheme prefs? (I think, I might be wrong on that.)
I believe a cookie is set for sitescheme prefs if the person is logged out. I can see a point in saying that clearing cookies will likely log you out of sessions on other websites, so user beware, maybe?
At that point, I think we're getting too far away from our core competencies. I am happy to argue the point, but it's more on general internet stuff, rather than DW-specific stuff.
Oh! I did not mean what (in general) gets stored in a cookie (from any given website), but instead what specifically Dreamwidth stores in our cookies, and split this up by whom, because I know it's different.
