FAQ on paid accounts

FAQ on paid accounts doesn't mention the ability to create custom styles... I think I read something about that in a recent news post - that it's a paid feature.

I was wondering that, too, in a previous entry. Soon afterwards, though, dw-doc wrangler [personal profile] rho stated here that, "I also want to completely redo the paid accounts FAQ, since it was thrown together hastily in a "we need somewhere to put this information up now if not sooner" sort of way and it shows." And then just today [staff profile] denise clarified in a comment that she doesn't always remember to follow up on style stuff.

So to make a long reply short, I think it just got lost in the shuffle and they're working on it. :)

My understanding from IRC is this:

1. Custom styles was supposed to be a paid feature.

2. Due to an oversight, it was given to free users on Open Beta.

3. Correcting that oversight left free users who had taken advantage of that feature in limbo.

4. [staff profile] denise and [staff profile] mark are now reconsidering options. There was talk last night about maybe possibly allowing limited customization (only a couple of layers). But the decision has not yet been made.

More info in this week's news post, under "POSTMORTEM II."

Yup, I know. It's [personal profile] camomiletea who was asking. ;)

But the link to [staff profile] denise's comment above goes to the same post, so sie may have read it already?

Yeah, I know. But I figured she'd get the notification anyway, since it's her entry.

And... that's what I get for not following a comment link. I just assumed that if it was about the News post, it would have linked the entry. Silly me.

Have added this, thanks.
