New icons

As of next code push, a whole lot of icons about the site are going to be replaced with shiny new versions. For instance, there'll be a new user head for in <user> tags, new icons for the interactions menu on profiles, new icons for comment interactions, and so on.

Particularly of note from our perspective, a lot of the icons are completely changed from the old versions. For instance, subscribing to someone will be represented by a book with a little green + next to it, and tracking comments will be a bell rather than a pin.

FAQ writers, when this goes live, please take a few minutes to review your FAQs and make sure you update any bits that still talk about the old look of the icons.

OMG - just this second when i clicked to read the comment above me on this post i realized you made it so that a click on comments leads *directly* to the comments and not to the top of the post (on the comments page). that is something i aaaaaaaaaaaaaalways wanted for lj! *squeeee*
that is so cool and makes so much more sense!
i even submitted this as a suggestion once and it was never realized.

what i initially wanted to say: totally looking forward to the new icons!
do you know when this will happen? today? tomorrow? *curious*

THIS. SO awesome. The other way was really annoying!

Heh. Just to prove that what's good for one, etc. I used to use the page going to the top of the page so that I didn't have to be arsed traling through everything on my f/list when I was trying to do a catch-up. Guess I'm gonna have to learn to read on my reading page in DW. <g>
