I'm looking to update the Guide to DW for LJ Users since we have so many people coming over this week, and realized that I haven't been following LJ development over the past few years closely enough to update the things LJ has that we don't! So, if someone who's been holding dual siteizenship for the past two years can help me make a list of things LJ has implemented since we branched off from them that we haven't integrated yet, that would be awesome.

Off the top of my head:

* Statistics/My Guests
* Repost-this-post button
* Private notes about other accounts

What am I missing?

We do have the PGP/GPG key support; pingbacks were added on LJ before we branched so they're already there (ditto QotD); monthly site headers/contests is something that's more administrative than "feature in the code". other than that, though, great list!

Good to know! Wasn't QotD removed or something?
I mentioned the header changes because, from an accessibility POV, this is quite important. If I'm not mistaken they don't necessarily check that the text is readable over the bkg header.

And I found this: http://news.livejournal.com/133199.html which I think provides a nice list. They do mention something about tags which could be what flick was talking about. I don't follow development and news on LJ either so I'm not sure.

Yeah, we did remove QotD support (and a few other things) -- I meant more that they were already on the list of things LJ has that we don't :)

...I'm sure that is a very useful list that will be very helpful in making my update, if I could load it. Sigh. Stupid DDoSers.

Oh I'm sorry.

So the tags thing is two things:
-- a Select Tags link which pops up a box where you can see all your tags and easily check/uncheck the tags you want to have.
-- a drop-down menu below the tags box when you start typing a tag for easier selecting.

In that case I'm not sure what you mean by "pingbacks were added on LJ before we branched so they're already there" - do you mean they exist on DW or not? I'm confused given what you said about the QotD.

which leads to the occasional revolting site header, like that chartreuse one last month
